Picture 578YerazArt’s Talented Children Charmed the Audience in the Babayan Hall of the AGBU Centre Talented children need nurturing, professional development and exposure in order to flourish and excel in their fields. That’s a mission YerazArt Foundation has undertaken for the musically talented children of Armenia since 2004. The Boston based foundation supports and promotes young Armenian musical talents by assisting them professionally, providing participation in international concerts and organizing their tours.
orgca/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Picture-553-300×225.jpg” alt=”Picture 553″ width=”300″ height=”225″ />For the second year in a row, the AGBU Toronto chapter invited the YerazArt children to perform at the Alex Manoogian Cultural Centre on October 6th, as part of their North American Tour. 13-year old Mikayel Grigoryan(Cello), 17-year old Rasa-Lila Buniatyan (kamancha), 17-year old Shoghagat Vardanyan (piano), 19-year old Eduard Nersisyan (saxophone) and 14-year old Davit Hakobyan (violin) presented the audience a colorful selection of world classical and Armenian folk and classical pieces.

Picture 572In the first part of the program the young musicians played etudes from Chopin, and various pieces from Paganini, Wieniawski, Car Maria von Weber, David Popper, Jacques Ibert, Darius Midlaud and Piazzolla. Their solo, duo and group renditions were performed with confidence and mastery. The repertoire was colorful and kept the audience enthralled until the last note.

The second part was devoted to the Armenian classical and folk pieces. Eduard Nersisyan on saxophone accompanied with Shoghagat Vardanyan on piano presented Prayer by Yuri Gevorgyan. The magical fingers of Vardanyan played Komites’ Keler-Tsoler and Babajanian’s Capriccio. Mikayel Grigoryan played Spendiarov’s Barcarolle on cello. Davit Hakobyan on violin performed a piece from Mirzoyan.

The audience was taken by Rasa-Lila Buniatyan’s kamancha performance of Sayat Nova’s Es Ko Ghimeten chim giti and Kamacha. At the end of the program the YerazArt group played Komitas’s Arnem Ertam En Sare and Shakhr-Shukhr.
