By now an annual tradition, the AGBU Toronto’s musical talent show is an event that brings together young music students, their families and teachers for a delightful musical afternoon. A good number of the participants are regulars who return every year, a little taller, a little more mature, tackling increasingly challenging pieces, and drawing enthusiastic applause from a supportive audience. And then there are the newcomers: usually much younger, they are taking their first steps in the art of performing in front of a crowd too eager to discover emerging talent.

The latest edition of the show took place on Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2019 at the Babayan Hall of the Alex Manoogian Centre, when 34 budding musicians, ages 4 to late teens, offered a varied musical program consisting of piano, violin, guitar and vocal works to a large group of parents, friends and teachers. They impressed those present with their confidence and beautiful stage deportment, as well as their solid preparation. The musical selections ranged from beginner level to very advanced, and a few young artists displayed a true mastery of their instrument, both technically and artistically.

At the conclusion of the show, the Executive Director of the AGBU Toronto, Mrs. Salpi Der Ghazarian congratulated all participants and their teachers, and thanked all those present for their support. Then she invited the performers to the stage to receive a certificate of participation.
