Women's International Day

On Friday, March 6, 2020, AGBU Toronto was thrilled to host an unforgettable evening in celebration of International Women’s Day at the newly opened offices in Toronto.

Fearless Female Founders was the inaugural event that officially kicked off a new initiative by AGBU Toronto, called MasterMIDK. In essence, MasterMIDK is a series of MasterClass panel discussions, each of which are themed around a specific topic, profession, or skill, designed to provide valuable content whilst promoting critical thinking and providing insightful tips for your personal toolkit.

Friday’s event featured three brilliant entrepreneurs all of whom are past members or participants of the Young Professionals of Toronto. Lori Sroujian of VEGCheese, Celine Toma of Gallant Avenue and Kareen Proudian of Faculty of Change passionately shared their candid experiences as female founders and provided valuable tips and detailed pieces of advice in a casual, conversational setting. Audience members enjoyed the opportunity to participate and ask questions to these successful entrepreneurs as well as mingle and network after the event. The value and inspiration provided at the event did not only benefit aspiring entrepreneurs in the audience, but also to those who simply needed a reminder to chase their dreams and seek out their true purpose in life.

AGBU Toronto would like to thank Lori, Celine and Kareen for their time and participation on the panel. Thank you as well to Nazig Gabriel, Co-Chair of the Young Professionals of Toronto who moderated the evening and provided plenty of laughter, ad-libs and personality. AGBU Toronto also thanks the generous food sponsors, Talia Kalendar of All the Graze, Lori Sroujian of VEGCheese and Kathy Sakarya which was certainly appreciated and enjoyed by all in attendance.

The fully-packed house was a great indicator of the level of interest in value-driven events. We look forward to hosting the next MasterMIDK event and hope to continue building and further developing the series.
